Hi there - I recently upgraded from the terminal release of 2.6 to latest version and I’m not sure if this is a bug or if I have SGP misconfigured but when I run autofocus, it never seems to work. (My equipment is Celestron Edge 1100HD using a Starizona Microfocuser. I’ve configured it with bigger steps to get the “V” shaped curve and SGP runs the routine 3 times and as I watch the graph, it seems to identify usable values, but then at the end of the routine SGP issues an error “Smart focus failed (too many range shifts)” and then just moves focuser back to original position. I get that if it fails, it should revert to original state, but what I’m really wondering is, why does it keep failing? The starting position isn’t that far off, but as I watch the graph, auto focus seems to come up with good guesses and so when it’s done, I usually just set focus manually, but I’m not at the desk the entire time during an all-night run. I’ve included the relevant lines from the log for an AF routine from this morning. I’ve got autofocus set to bin 2x2 and included the other settings from the logfile, along with the ending message where the routine fails. A link to the logfile itself is at the end of the post.
