I want to state that this problem did not happen until I updated to version 3.1.0.558.
Last night while imaging, an automatic focus run was triggered because of temperature change. Everything seemed to go fine except before it could complete, autofocus hung up on “Image Preview Open”. I let it run for a few minutes before intervening, but it was clear the autofocus routine was not going to finish normally.
I unplugged the USB cable from the back of the camera (ASI1600MC-Pro) and plugged it back in. After waiting for the sensor temperature to get back to -10C, I tried the autofocus again, and it completed.
Not sure what the culprit is, but I wondered if anyone else had a similar problem after updating their software.
