Execution of ASTAP in command line mode

Hello Ken, Jared,

SGP is still using ASTAP in the PlateSolve2 mode. In the long term it is better to use ASTAP in the ASTAP command-line mode. Then is possible to execute with a search range in degrees rather then areas.

Some additional thoughts:

The two commandline options

astap.exe -debug

astap.exe -f c:\images\image.fits -z 0 -r 30 -debug

If I remember well SGP is still using the PlateSolve2 command for ASTAP. So the second option is not possible. Secondly the disadvantage of the last option is that it will generate a solve using an older ASTAP version. So for the moment the commandline:

astap.exe -debug

is probably the best option. It will be an improvement for new ASTAP versions and will work with the older version also.

If the ASTAP native commandline is implement in future and if there is the possibility to detect the ASTAP file version (0938 or higher) the longer commandline could be used.

Cheers, Han
