Failue possibly due to PHD Unknown Object message

Description

I had a failure leading to my limit switch preventing a pier crash this morning. It seems to be related to SGP receiving several “Unknown object from PHD” over the course of almost 4 hours. The interesting thing is that that there are no other SGP log entries during that time period. So, if SGP was truely not doing anything, that would explain why recovery didn’t run and the scoped continued tracking way past meridian to trigger the limit switch. About 15 minutes after the last “Unknown object” message the SGP log continues with it’s normal dozens of messages per second.

I don’t know what caused PHD to send the “Unkown object” messages; I don’t see anything obviously wrong in the PHD logs. But it appears from the SGP logs that SPG stopped doing anything as a result of these messages.

Probably unrealted: This was my first test with my new dome controller and it’s new ASCOM driver slaved to the telescope via SGP. It seemed to have worked fine and I don’t think it caused the issue. Cool: multiple targets while I’m sleeping!!!
