Flat frames not in the correct focus position relative to light frames

Hello,

I notice that my flat frames are not in the same focus position as my light frames.

What am I doing wrong here? Do I have to manually adjust focus position for every flat or does the wizard do that for you when you add flats to light events ?

Kind regards

Roger

SGPro (currently) makes an assumption that your focuser is where you want it to be when capturing flat cal data and does not attempt to move it to some previous focus position. Currently, most:

  • Capture flats for a filter immediately after the light event
  • Record the position of last known focus for a filter (not always accurate)
  • Shut down for the night with the focuser in a particular position

Future enhancements for this are something we’ve dubbed “Auto flats” where you can couple a flats event with a different lights event in that target or a different one. When it starts, it will do its best to determine where the last focus position for that light frame occurred.
