Focusing away from extremely bright objects

Hello,
has any consideration been given to making it a function in SGP to assign a focus region nearby to a target where SGP would slew/autofocus/slew back to target, resume imaging?
I think this would be useful mainly when there are a lot of bright stars in a target like in globular clusters.
These targets seem to demand very accurate readings by SGP, which it sometimes can’t do.
Just asking

cheers,
Malcolm

This is another of several long standing requests (another is coordinated multi camera) that have been made for years and have never happened. You are far from alone in wanting this as an option!

Given that it has not happened after that amount of time, I begin to wonder if it will.

forgive me for being new

Why such a hostile reaction for just letting you know that this has been requested before?

as I say, I’m new
