I’m not sure which software I am not considering correctly, but I will start here as this has a much bigger user base. I’ve recently installed Interactive Astronomy’s SkyRoof system. Using their software all the expected functions work as I would expect, particularly parking the scope before closing the roof. However, when I use SGP, it will open and close the roof, but it will not park the scope first. I have SGP “slave to telescope” selected, and inside slave settings I have “Park mount first” selected.
In the Skyroof settings there is a section to check park switch. There are three options, to use a physical switch or to use the ASCOM mount driver or to use neither.
