Win 7 ultimate. using SGP PRO

Hi.
In my observatory I am running my camera and scope/focus system using win 7 ultimate with all the updates.
what I need to know is will SGP Pro v3 or v4 run ok using my setup?.
As I am looking into purchasing a version of SGP for my observatory.

I’m using Win7 Ultimate and SGP runs flawless (with legacy SBIG ST2000 and ST10 cameras) with 32 bit SGP versions 3 and the latest version up to 4.0.0.643. As of today, I tried to run 4.0.0.651 and SGP doesn’t fully startup. So, it may be a limitation with the latest V4 version and Win 7. Here is a link to a recent discussion for this very same topic:

Well that is not what I was looking for.
The question was will V3 or v4 work or not.
Equipment.
Titan 50 mount.
Starlight Filter wheel.
Zwo EAF. Focus

Did you try using is for the trial duration? That would be the best way to determine. You didn’t mention the equipment you have.
Here is my setup and it works flawless with SGP version 3 or version 4 (up to .643) & Win7 Ultimate:

  • SBIG cameras (ST2K & ST10)
  • SBIG CFW9 & 10 filter wheels
  • Pyxis 2" rotator (ASCOM driver)
  • Moonlight focuser (ASCOM driver)
  • PHD2 guider program w/SBIG guide scope
  • Losmandy G11 w/Gemini (ASCOM driver)
  • Alnitak flip-flat
  • LesveDome.net dome control (ASCOM driver)
  • AAG Cloud Watcher
  • Digital Loggers IP switch

Mike

Thank you Mike, I see now that you are using v3 on win7.
So my set should work ok .My set up Equipment is in the above message.

It might work but keep in mind this is not an officially supported platform as Microsoft has also dropped support for Windows 7.

Best best is to get the trial and give it a shot.

Jared

Thank You.
