Why does an ASCOM DOS command window appear when I launch SGP? I don’t think it used to do this.
If I close the window while SGP is running it reappears as soon as SGP executes anything.
It sits minimized on my taskbar but I can open it and see what I think are ASCOM type process commands. Reminds me of the PixInsight process window.
Can I turn it off?

Yes. Exactly. Thank you for pointing me too this thread. Looks like it remains an uresolved issue. Not a fatal thing phenomena so far but distracts me slightly every time.
Actually if you look at the post by Bob Denny linked by Subaru, that shows how to keep it from popping open. I had the same issue and that post instructions solved it.

I was seeing also at the end of that string of posts Subaru started that Ken is starting to think about how to get SGP to give us an option to control it. And that would be good as well.
FWIW, this isn’t really an ASCOM issue. The ASCOM sim is behaving how it is meant to behave. The issue is that SGPro, for many years (before ASCOM 7), has always made brief connections with switches on start in order to inventory and display available options (states) for use in the sequence. Now, with ASCOM 7, this means that all users access the ASCOM switch sim every time and so the command window always opens.
I am working through some changes for this in 4.5 where I am introducing an interface by which users can electively ignore any number of installed switches and SGPro will pretend they don’t exist (including the switch sim). This will prevent the command window from opening.
I noticed the same pop up window every time I run SGP over the last few months. I decided better safe than sorry, and just left it alone. It doesn’t bother me, Im not a code guy and every time I try to “fix” a nothing issue I mess up ten other things in my sequence. So, now I know I was right! Who cares, hit the start button and grab photons.
