I have a telescope at a remote observatory where the roof isn’t under my control, but I do have a status read on it plugged in as a safety monitor. Every night when the roof opens I log in to my rig to hit the “Start Sequence” button on SGP.
It’d be wonderful if there was an option to have SGP run a sequence on its own every night the safety monitor gave the go-ahead!
We certainly agree with these sentiments and stuff like this will fall under the larger umbrella of what we call “scheduling automation”. A thing like you describe would certainly be possible, but it would also be more sophisticated and allow for automatic selection of a set of targets (approved by you) and maximizing time for each based on overlay of rise / set data.
