My trial is nearly up and I’m still struggling to get some core features working correctly- would really like to get the camera working reliably before purchasing.
My Canon 6D seems unreliable. When imaging I’ll take a 300 second sub and end up with a 3 second RAW. SGPro will count the 300 seconds but only record data for 3. I previously thought this was related to mirror lock or manual vs bulb mode but I’ve not narrowed it down. I’ve had it work I just don’t know what combination of camera and software settings were successful. The previous similar topics didn’t have a clear answer.
Live view locks up the camera and SGP to the point I need to pull the battery- I’ve never seen it work
It’s definitely caused by wrong mirror lock settings, it has to be either enabled or disabled in both the camera and SGP. SGP can’t change the setting in the camera like some other software can.
As far i know there is no live view in SGP so i wonder how you are trying to use live view?
There is a live view checkbox on the frame and focus floater. When I added the camera overnight it happened to work but I didn’t change anything… tried the flats tool first and it was giving me correct exposures. Just seems unreliable
Ok. Liveview must have been added after i stopepd using DSLR’s with SGP.
SGP has some limitations when it comes to some DSLR’s, your 6D has the ability to change many settings and change modes electronically (which cheaper cameras can’t), but SGP doesn’t support it like some other softwares like BYE and APT.
For use in SGP it will have to be set to the correct mode manually.
