Canon EOS lens autofocus?

I have a 5DII. I see that SGP can control the camera for image capture, but am not sure if SGP can focus the lens (eg 135mm f/2L). Can it?

If not, how do you recommend focusing? EOS Utility?

In the future we plan on offering support for AF with Canon lenses (and we even have mode of the code written). Currently this is not supported and has been deprioritized due to normal 2.3 support and our effort to get get 2.4 out.

Will this be added to the 2.4 in a later stage or has this been moved into the lower part of the whish list?

We have not prioritized this for 2.4 at the moment. It’s possible that it could get in but at this point we can make no promises. One concern I have about AF for canon lenses is that it will likely only work for lenses over 200mm in FL. I couldn’t really see this working for short focal length lenses where SGP would have a difficult time detecting differences in star size as they would be extremely under sampled. But it will be interesting to see how this works.
