Is there a way to debayer OSC images in the preview window?
We haven’t ever implemented debayering in SGPro just because it is oriented toward collecting data and not processing. Debayering will typically reduce an image’s usefulness in terms for framing so we have chosen to display it in its raw form.
That said, SGPro does support adding your bayer patterns to the fits header so that you can easily use any number of batch-based applications to automate the process of doing so.
I use ZWO FITs viewer program if I want to see the image in color.
Hi Ken,
I know this has been your standard response for years now, but this continues to be a recurring feature request for those of us using OSC imaging. I’ve been looking for a reason to upgrade SGP, and I thought for sure when I saw this image on your website, that this request had finally been answered in the positive. Thus, I’m disappointed to discover that apparently that image is just marketing material and not a true representation of SGP’s capabilities. Therefore, I’m refreshing my feature request for you to add this capability and hope that maybe we’ll see it in a V5.x in a few years. In the meantime, I do have to wonder why someone chose to use that nice color picture to advertise a product that you continue to say has no reason to look that way. And yes, I realize those are fully processed images that have been overlayed, but that doesn’t negate the desire to see deBayered subs. I would also point out that color does add information to the image.
Thanks,
Beo
