Dither via Mount or Pulseguide?

Hi,

I am considering buying SGP and wanted to understand if I could dither via the mount or pulse guide? I am using an unguided mount and therefore not using any guiding software…

thanks

Nick

Nick,

This is really a question for PHD2. Dithering is really just a request to PHD to accomplish the maneuver. But yes, PHD2 can dither via pulse guiding as long as your mount is controlled via ASCOM.

You can. In the guider tab, selects t direct mount guider and then specify
the size of the pulse in the drop down.

Thanks Ken,

So Direct Mount Guider uses the ASCOM pulse guide command?

many thanks

Nick

This is true.

Ken, why does SGP need to handle this versus PHD?

Mads,

The question was how to dither without PHD as I am using an Unguided mount and therefore not using guiding software…

hope that helps,

Nick
