Hi!
I’m considering starting to use SGP for astrophotography. Currently, I use SBIG Control. The reason I’ve been using that software is that it supports cameras with built-in guide chips. I use an SBIG STXL-11002 when shooting. Is SGP compatible with cameras that have built-in guide chips?
Regards Jorgen
I can not say anything about the SBIG camera, but i have no issues using my ASI 2600 DUO camera.
Yes. You’ll need to use the API software (forget the exact name) so PHD can connect to the guide camera.
Thank you both for the responses. It seems like I should switch software for photography. SBIG Control is a stable program, but it only offers basic features. SGP appears to be a significantly more capable software.
Regards Jorgen
SGP also has a trial period (30 or 45 days) so you can test it out without spending money.
That’s a valid perspective
Trial is 45 days as mentioned. And yes you’ll need to use the SGP API Guider
in our downloads section to connect to the guide chip of your SBIG camera with PHD2.
