Falcon Rotator and SGP do not play well together

Hi Evans,
sorry but it’s totally illogical to press “No” when asked if I want to restore the default direction. The assumption is that the default direction is the correct direction, so why press “No”?

I’m probably misunderstanding what is meant by default direction.

Unless, of course, the default direction is the reverse direction, then obviously I would press “No”. Still, the default direction should be if I send the rotator in a clockwise, it should move clockwise. If the reverse is set, then it should physically run counter-clockwise (which it certainly does not!). So, the reverse function probably needs to be fixed and then maybe SGP will play nice with the Falcon.

Thannks for the support.

Regards,
Allen

You are right about that. I’ll rephrase the question to be more clear.
The default direction was clockwise in older firmware.
It seems that plate solving / SGP requires anticlockwise (when you see the rotator from the back of your telescope) direction to fully sync with the degrees.
That’s why we set anticlockwise as the default rotation.

So reverse action in latest firmware does a clockwise movement.

Hi Evans,
I finally understand. Thank you. I’ll do as you suggested and get back to you after the next clear night.

Problem solved. Thank you for the support.
