File Naming Pattern

Hello, I am hoping someone could help give me naming pattern advice.

What is the best file naming patterns that most people use?

I would like to name the target in the top folder with the date. Then inside that folder have ones for Light (I am only doing color now), Darks and Flats.

I have enclosed an image of files with a naming pattern that makes sense to me but with the ASI plug in there doesn’t seem to be any “off set” data in the meta data or in the file name. I had the off set at 50 and my gain at 76. Nothing was recorded for off set.

What do other people who image in one shot color do for the naming patterns?

Could someone help me with the code for a double set of folders? I want the top for the target (is it possible to date that) then inside folders of Light, Darks, and Flats?

Thank you.

Joe

As of right now, SGPro is unaware of the camera’s offset and cannot access it to use it as part of the file name.

You can create as many folders as you’d like. For instance, to use Target Name, Date, Frame type, you’d have:
%tn\%ds\%ft\[however you want to name your file]

Thank you for your help. What if I have 2 files for the same target? Same M45. Would last night’s folder be put in the same folder as tonights for M45? I appreciate your help.

No, the %ds folder will use the date in which the sequence started.
