I’ve recent got a new rig and have decided to take it up a notch and buy SGP pro. Still learning how to use the software as its more mature then APT that I used before. One of the issues I’ve been having is my CMOS being able to cool. I set the temperature to cool to -15C in a time frame of 10min. But it only cools to -6C however despite it not cooling in that time frame it still continues to cool over the course of time. But I haven’t been able to cool it to the desire temperature I want it. Any suggestions? The Camera is QHY 268M. And currently using ASCOM driver. If i wanted to switch to SDK driver how would I do that? In the connection options there QHYCCD Capture 1 and 2 I assume one is ASCOM the other is SDK?
The answer may lie in the post from @winwimp (thx for that). In general, I assume you are certain that the camera can actually cool to -15C in the ambient temp in which you are imaging.
After the 10 min has elapsed, does it actually make it to -15C eventually?
No worries I’ve been busy myself. So I talked to QHY. The Ambient temperature is 30C right now and they told me it will be hard to reach that temperature and advised me to try 0C to ensure it will stay at the temperature. So far it is staying at that temperature. I did upgrade my PSU to 12V 10A from the 12V 5A i had to ultimate powerbox this helped alot. However when I do -15C even though it dosent cool to that temperature it dose continue to cool further as the night progresses but not too -15C yet. I assume its too hot right now.
I followed instillation video from the manual and installed the stable version ALL in one package. The recommended this over the beta version. I did see this post actually! But i wonder if its just too hot right now to reach -15C. It is now 29C currently
