Loading profile but now get RPC errors?

Been using SGPro for 3 years - no issues - but now suddenly when I go to load existing equipment profiles I get RPC type errors?

Never seen before and very frustrating having to manually configure each session

Have tried deleting/re-installing but same issue? Did try the latest Beta version but was full of bugs (well seemed it to me)

Any clues?

Having to use NINA which I don’t like but not having this issue with SGPro

BTW tried deleting 64bit version and install 32bit - still no joy

Just tried version 4.4.1.1413 - works fine so looks like a bug?

I’m not certain. It depends on what version you were using prior, what version of ASCOM you are running and what drivers you have installed. It’s entirely possible that 1413 works better with different combinations of those things.

it seems so strange that after a couple of years it suddenly stopped working as before? Gut feel is a recent Windows update but would have thought others were seeing this effect?

Hoping older version is more stable - will report back

I ran into this same issue after updating to new Unity platform for some of my equipment. If this rings a bell, going back to Unity 2 solved my woes.

I had the same issue after installing Unity Platform #3 (PegasusAstro). After uninstalling Unity#3 SGPro is runing fine again!

very interesting as that could be the link - there have been 2 more updates to Pegasus Unity 3 (bug fixes?) - and last night on the rig all was working fine? Fingers crossed it is a Unity issue not SGPro

Reached out to Pegasus - this was their response about Unity 3 release

Not sure what the problem is. The server is the EXACTLY the same including ASCOM drivers. The frontend graphic UI only changes.

Who knows….

That’s interesting. I don’t have any Pegasus gear handy, but I do wonder if maybe there is an issue with Unity 3 only when Unity 2 was first installed? Has anyone attempted to fully uninstall Unity 2 and then install Unity 3 after a Windows restart?

Had issues myself with Unity V3 so went back to V2…..

I’ve Got the rotator V2 and their 6 port Hub, going to do what Ken asks right now.

Ken, look out for a new posting in the Premium forum with attached log.

Hold the line caller…….

Ken,

Detailed sequence of events ref Unity V2 and V3 as you asked, sorry it’s in the Premium forum though.

Definately something not right with Unity 3 and SGP for sure.

Hope its helpful

Paul

I too have been having issues which appear to be linked to Pegaus and unity.

I have been plagued by RPC not found errors, to the extent that the equipment profile manager ceased to function and sequences were not saving when manually saved. ( I have automatic saving turned off).

Reinstalling SGP made no difference. However, installing Unity 3 update moments ago did restore SGP to launch without RPC error codes.

I have fed this back to Pegasus support that there are multiple users impacted - I think there was a Unity 3 “patch” released recently - my rig with Unity 3seems to be running ok now

Interesting thing about Unity……If you update ASCOM at any point then you are supposed to fully uninstall Unity and reinstall it after the ASCOM update to ensure correct registration of unity products to the new version of ASCOM, even small incrimental updates.

HMmmmmmmm

Madmaz…….Will try that out when I get a chance

I experienced this same error and after uninstalling Unity and re-installing it fixed the problem.
