Mm or m for aperture in Equipment Profile Manager?

Hi all,

I am setting up a new profile in the equipment profile manager. In the telescope tab, Scope focal length is in mm. Aperture is in m. I have a TEC 140 which is 140 mm aperture and 980 mm focal length. Does this mean I put “980” in the Scope focal length” and “0.14” in the aperture for 0.14 meters? Or do I put “140” for 140 mm.

0.14 for apature since it’s in meters.

I wonder if, or where it matters? I’ve had my TEC 140 aperture set at 140 for years now, and everything works fine.

Thanks! Yes, I had mine set at 140 also. But I’m setting up on a new computer and I noticed it, so thought I’d ask. It didn’t seem to make a difference for me either.

Search in the forums for “aperture”. I’m pretty sure Ken explained where it’s used; in my case, I didn’t use whatever SGP feature used the aperture, but I have my TEC 140 at 0.14 anyhow.

That was a good idea, thanks. Turns out it doesn’t matter.
