Moonset time

SGP provides the moon set/rise time for the current day.
What is also needed is the NEXT moonset/rise time which if it is after midnight, you will never get from SGP. (Correct me if I’m wrong here).
So I go to another program and look for the moon time.
Why can’t we have this information in the Planning Tool?

thanks

I’ve noticed the moon times are sometimes off by a day, and have also had to go elsewhere for the correct info.
I never realized it happens when the times are after midnight.

+1 to fix this.

Yes, if the Moon times can include the current day and next day, it will be a lot more convenient, instead of the need to use another planetarium software for the planning.

@Ken copying you for feedback

Noted. Feedback received. I have added this for consideration.

Hi Ken,

I just list the following ideas, for your consideration if any of them can be implemented more easily.

I understand option 4 is more complicated, than just as a display in the planning function.

  1. Moon rise and set time of the current day / next day
  2. Moon rise and set time of the current day, if the time is after the mid-night of today, then display the time for the next day
  3. Next Moon rise and Set time
  4. To implement a check box in the target’s event, if the Moon is still on the sky, user can select to skip the event (e.g. broadband imaging)

end sequence at next moonrise check box is an interesting thought.
Also start sequence at next moonset check box is also an interesting thought.

Isn’t # 3 the same as # 2?
In # 2, it will display the next moon rise/set, which may be later today or tomorrow, correct?

I guess when there is Moon rise in today (current time > Moon rise, i.e. in the past but the same day), at least we know the Moon is there for tonight, and may do narrowband instead of LRGB.
