My focuser (and I think some others) doesn’t like odd step values. Moreover should be nice to limit the resolution to the step size chosen as parameter in autofocus routine. Is it possible (may be with a checkbox choice) to have the final focus position chosen from the autofocus routine rounded to the nearest step size and not the calculated absolute value as now? Do you mean that your focuser will accept values of, for example, 998, 1000, 1002 but not 999, 1001, 1003?
If so the driver needs fixing.
I don’t think that this sort of hardware dependence can be, or should be, fixed in SGP.
