SBIG AO-X adaptive optics supported?

Is the SBIG AO-X adaptive optics unit supported? I’m considering getting one.
I don’t see anything in the Control Panel for any adaptive optics units.

If I’m not mistaken AO does not require anything specific from SGP. It does interact with PHD2 as it is basically a guiding solution that allows for much faster movement than the mount can accomplish.

PHD2 has an option to define an AO solution in an equipment profile. PHD2 needs to know if AO is correcting or if the guide error is too large and PHD2 has to send a correction to the mount.

Thanks @Ventania. Makes sense.

I have recently acquired a similar AO device from Starlight Xpress in the UK. Have not been able to test it yet as there were a number of other issues to resolve in my observatory. Will report back here once I have been able to get some first results.

Unfortunately, after a lot of checking with several vendors, I determined neither of my systems has sufficient back focus for an AO-X. Sigh. They both have field flatteners that have less than 100 mm back focus.
