I was using beta4.2.0.852 and had sgp crash after frame and focus. I saw that x855 fixed that, so installed it, and afterwards frame and focus then worked fine. However, when I run my sequence, it hangs sgp with the message:
“Validating sequence and connections, please wait …”
The only thing I can do is force-close the application - it’s totally hung.
Nothing changed in my hardware configuration. I have a Pegasus Powerbox v2 which almost every device is plugged into. I’ve tried power cycling it, rebooting the computer, restarting everything - but the problem persists.
I had a similar problem last night with beta 855. As soon as I started the sequence I got the “validating connections” message and then SGP hung. Tried 3 times before reverting back to 4.1.0.800 and all worked fine in the older version. I’ll post a log later today.
I’ve seen this hanging too in .852 and a work around was to select Sequence > Reset Sequence (Preserve Progress) and I was able to restart the sequence again whereby it got past the validating phase. I haven’t tested it in .855 (32 bit) yet due to weather. I figured it was some random quirk with my setup, but I see it isn’t now.
Does anyone else have logs showing the issue? The logs from @robb42 make it seem like the issue could possibly be related to start and end times (maybe altitude locks?)
I don’t know if these issues are the same or not… a lot of stuff happens on sequence start so it’s a common spot for trouble.
@joelshort The issue you are experiencing is with the gmail connection. It is hanging on sequence start and Im not sure why. I think I will remove the external notification checks on sequence start until I figure out why / how it causes a hang.
It could have nothing to do with the beta… maybe? Just a momentary failure with gmail or something in between you and gmail. Do you know if the issue is repeatable now?
Thanks for looking at it. Note that it does not happen for me with 4.2.0.842 (or 4.1.0.800 for Joel). I haven’t tried 4.2.0.855 again yet to verify it comes back.
@ken I don’t use sgp notifications, or gmail…so I doubt that’s related to my problem. I’ll try x855 again tonight and see if the problem comes back. Note that I tried with x855 for hours to get it to work, and when I went back to x842 it worked immediately.
Last night I had 2 imaging PC platforms running (1 with observatory and IP switch control and the other a basic portable setup) and both ran fine. I’ll be imaging tonight to see if its consistent.
