Thank you Ken. Can not wait for the v3 release.

I’m fairly new to SGP and the world of ever so exciting PHD2 guiding and one thing which made me stay off SGP for so long was guiding application integration within SGP rather than relying on third party application such as PHD2.

Are you guys thinking about this in v3?

No, PHD2 is pretty much the industry standard in autoguiding. We don’t really have a reason to implement our own guiding either as the integration with PHD2 is fairly robust.

Why don’t you like using third party applications? Using a specialist application that does a good job seems better to me. It allows the SGP developers to concentrate on their core functionality rather than duplicating work that’s already been done.

Just to add my .02 I have found PhD to be by far the best at guiding (compared to, for example MaxIm) and the support and integration with SGP are second to none.
