What’s new in SGPro 4.5 - Sequence Generator Pro Help
The big delay on releasing SGPro 4.5 is mostly due to the nature of the changes that comprise the 4.5 release and how they affect documentation. In other words, SGPro 4.5 has changed the layout of major components in a manner that renders previous help files for it obsolete. Admittedly, even before the emergence of SGPro 4.5, the help files were in pretty bad shape. All of this means that we have spent a significant amount of time restoring the usefulness of the SGPro Help System:
- The default
CHMWindows help viewer is no more and has been replaced with a more modern viewer. - The new help system remains fully functional when the local machine is offline.
- The help system is now “dark” by default so you don’t need to worry about it too much of you need to look something up and still maintain light discipline (there is a light theme available if you prefer).
- SGPro is a complex application with a lot of interconnected parts and settings. The new help system does a much better job of cross-linking other relevant help documents.
- The new help system is far easier for us to maintain and, as such, it should go a long way in terms of helping to prevent it from becoming so dated.
- A new historical “What’s New” section is now maintained as a part of the help system and will be a reasonably good way to answer “Should I upgrade?” type questions.
