SGPro and PHD2 guiding problem

Hi all

Maybe someone can help

I have a paramount MYT mount and a loadstar2x guider and I use SGPro and PHD2 for guiding. The program works good on the west side of the pier imaging towards the east, guides great but when it does the meridian flip to the east side of the pier camera pointing to the west , guide camera gets the star and starts to guide and then loses the star , the star just moves away and the PHD2 cant seem to follow the star lock and then it says max duration problem on top of the screen and SGPro stops sequence. I try to shut down the program and restart it and it does the same thing so what am I doing wrong here. Here at the files Guide log and debug log . I have tried to change setting but with no luck . My computer is window 10 pro and I’m running the program in windows 7 compatibility mode and I have the latest windows update that is suppose to fix the windows 10 problem and this problem has done this before the windows 10 problems .

Thanks
PAT

Just a thought but are you using an AUX mount setup in PHD2 ? See this link: Using PHD Guiding

If you search for ā€œflipā€ there is a section about a problem that sounds similar to what you are saying. It’s as though PHD2 doesn’t realize it’s flipped so it’s sending the same corrections, but that just makes the guide star fall off the edge of the FOV sooner because it did not reverse the connections.

Here is the exact text I’m talking about: ā€œIf you have selected an ST-4 style of guiding in the ā€˜mount’ section, that interface cannot be used to query the pointing position of the telescope. As a consequence, guider calibration won’t be automatically adjusted for declination, nor will it be automatically flipped when the side-of-pier changes. You can restore these features by specifying an ā€œauxā€ mount connection that will be used only to get the telescope pointing information.ā€

Sorry I should have made my set up clear .
QSI683wsg-8 with the loadstar2x guider and its not hooked up through the AUX mount I have a usb cable on each camera going back to the computer and the PHD2 software is controlling the mount through the usb cable.

Yea I’m not familiar with your equipment. I did see in the logs where the errors started to occur, looked like a driver throwing an exception, after that you start seeing the star lost messages logged.

Is this something that you can reproduce at will (ie this happens every single flip)?

In case anyone is following this thread, Pat posted in the PHD2 forum and we diagnosed the problem to be that his setup requires the setting in PHD2 ā€œReverse dec output on meridian flipā€.
