SGPro Internationalization

Because we made some poor decisions (years ago) when SGPro was just a small hobby project, the application was never really developed in way that would easily support use of other languages. While this is something we intend to tackle holistically, the first part will be to provide localized help files.

The 2.5.2.7 beta will feature the ability to select either English or German as the “Help” language. We have had a volunteer kind enough to dedicate his time to produce said help German help manual.

We would like to support as many languages as possible and this is a pretty easy area to start with…

While SGPro is not technically a hobby project, it is also not a source of massive income (that’s what you get when you write software for a hobby that is, at best, a niche within an already small niche). We would offer you free MSS software for life (including a refund of any existing SGPro purchases) and @Jared will issue hugs and kisses. We will also buy you beer if we are able to meet up at NEAF, NEAIC or similar.

Please respond or PM if you are bilingual and have time to translate a help manual that is now in excess of 100 pages.

LOL…

Looking a bit furry there Jared, time for a shave maybe !

Wish I could help but I’m only bilingual in English and
Double Dutch

Let me know if interested in Italian Translation

Hi @Andrea_Tosatto,

Thanks! We definitely need Italian. I will send a PM to you shortly.

Hi Folks,

We have add several awesome SGPro users offer to make translations. So far, we have:

  • German
  • French
  • Italian
  • Dutch (maybe)

I have volunteered to translate British and Canadian English. Anything else is still available.

Could help a bit in french .
My advice : wait as much as users in one particular language and parse as much as possible
the work, bec ause it seems a huge task.

Francois
