SGPro setting for dslr

Hi

Looking to see if someone can help me figure this out.

I am shooting with a Canon dslr and SGPro is not controlling the shutter release time for the exposure I have set for my sequence which is 240 secs. It seems it is only opening the shutter for the mount settle time which is 5 secs.

I think I’ve encountered this problem before but can’t remember what I did to fix it. If anyone could give me some hints on what to set in SGPro that would help.

Check the Canon camera settings in SGPro and set Mirror Settle Time to 0 or enable Mirror Lockup in the camera body’s own menu/custom functions. That SGPro setting only works if mirror lockup is also enabled on the camera. If it is set to 5 seconds while the body is not using mirror lockup, the first shutter command can become a 5-second exposure instead of just raising the mirror.

Also confirm the camera is in the right exposure mode: for Canons with a dedicated Bulb mode, use Bulb for exposures over 1 second; otherwise use Manual with bulb shutter available. Disable any in-camera bulb timer / self-timer if it is set to 5 seconds.

Thanks for that advice cause everything I’ve read on the internet said to disable mirror lockup on the camera. I will be sure to try what you suggest though.
