Shutdown procedure on power failure

Is there any way to initiate a shutdown procedure in response to power failure event (Assuming the scope is connected on a UPS that can notify when there is a power failure)
Basically park the telescope, close the roof

If not …can we add it to the list ?

gorgi,

I think what you need is an ASCOM driver for the UPS that can act as an ASCOM SafetyMonitor device. Once you have that ASCOM driver you would select it as the Weather Station in SGP (yes, really), then SGP would run the end of sequence options like parking your scope and closing the roof with the driver reports “unsafe”.

Ok, that would work, but then can we have multiple safety monitors ? So weather or power failure

Right now we only support one. We actually may want to consider renaming the device connection in SGPro to just “Safety monitor” (from weather station). To do what you are after you might need a safety monitor “hub” of sorts that might be able monitor many sources, any of which can issue an unsafe event . The hub would, of course be a custom ASCOM safety switch driver that could take input from a weather station and anything else that understands unsafe conditions in your environment.
