It would be nice to be able to lookup a target and have it auto-populate the RA/DEC fields for the target. Not looking for planetarium graphics at all. Just to be able to type in a SAO, NGC, etc… number. Right now we manually input or import from Astrobin, etc…
There have been a few topics on this, but nothing in the past few years. Is it on the roadmap?
Tools → Framing and Mosaic wizard will do that for you.
Though is shows mosaic, you can create a target with coordinates using a single frame.

I never considered using the Framing and Mosaic wizard for non-mosiac use. Though it would be nice if there was an option to add a new target in the current sequence instead of just a new sequence. Or for that matter since the logic is already implemented adding it to the target settings dialogue. (that is the Object input and fetch button)
You can add new targets to the current sequence.
When you select 'Create ‘Sequence’ you will have a pop-up option to either append target or replace targets in the sequence, plus other options.
