Update shows 'wrong version'

I have updated to the beta but the new ‘about’ shows version 2.3.15.2568 - rather than 14. Is this correct?

Hi Lawrence,
Beta 14 should be 2.4.0.2740.
Did you delete the older version before installing 14?. If not, give it a try.

No, I didn’t delete the old version; I think I saw a comment ‘don’t uninstal’. I’ll do it anyway (though I don’t see how that would change the version number in this way.)
