Using the same sequence for multiple focal lengths/FOV

Is it possible for multiple equipment profiles, with scopes of differing fields of view (FOV) to use the same sequence?

For example, assuming the same camera, I have a scope which is 360mm and another which is 350mm. I would assume the plate solver should not have problems with the small difference.

What is the tolerance limit? How about 490mm vs 550mm? I would assume that the difference cannot be too large (e.g. 400mm vs 1000mm).

Thanks!

SGPro isn’t designed for this, but you might get away with it when using similar FLs like 490 and 550. Really what it boils down to is the leniency of the plate solver during solves (because of the change to image scale).

That said, SGPro will automatically update the scale of the sequence whenever it solves an image successfully. What this means practically is that you might, on night 1, image and solve at 490mm just fine. Then the next night at 550mm. The first solve at 550mm might fail to solve with the primary solver (might not) and fail over to whatever blind solver you have setup. This will likely succeed and when it does it will update the image scale and enable successful solves the remainder of the evening using the primary solver. If you set up a use of several solvers and a good blind solver in the Chain Solver, you’ll have a pretty good chance of success I think.

Alternatively, you might update the image scale manually before starting or duplicate and Equipment Profile where the only difference is the image scale, then, before starting the sequence, simply Apply profile to sequence.
