V1578 Dome Left Open

Hi Ken,

The night before last worked perfectly. Last night, SGP failed to count down, as before, but the “End of sequence actions are complete” message was there. The camera was not disconnected, however, and the dome was left open. The scope was parked. All sequence switches were off. I used a very similar sequence both nights.

So SGP did much better but still not quite there yet. Log at:

I forgot to mention that SGP was hung, requiring Task Manager to kill it. I closed the dome using the native Digital Dome Works Control Program (just easier at that point).

I can’t really explain what is happening here because I only have half of the story (i.e. SGPro asked the observatory to close its shutter and park, but the observatory did not respond).

[01/18/26 05:04:44.934][DEBUG][Telescope Thread][SQ;PK;] Dome: Closing Shutter
[01/18/26 05:08:45.226][DEBUG][Telescope Thread][SQ;PK;] ASCOM Observatory: Close shutter timeout!
[01/18/26 05:08:45.226][DEBUG][Telescope Thread][SQ;PK;] ASCOM Telescope: parking observatory...
[01/18/26 05:08:45.227][DEBUG][Telescope Thread][SQ;PK;] ASCOM Dome: Parking...
[01/18/26 05:13:45.894][DEBUG][Telescope Thread][SQ;PK;] ASCOM Observatory: Timeout while waiting for the dome to park!

The reason that the camera did not disconnect was due to a timing bug where the camera might immediately reconnect after disconnecting. I’ve fixed that issue.

OK, thanks Ken.

It has worked fine the last couple of nights.
