When using PHD2 for guiding I also get the “Waiting For Guider to Report It Is Done Settling” message after an exposure completes. Why is this necessary - why can’t the camera immediately start to take another exposure? I’m not dithering so there shouldn’t be any delay once the image is downloaded?
I get this message for close to a minute?
I am using a AP1100GTO and an Ultrastar guide camera on an OAG.
General,
I believe Jon Rista addressed your concern, but here’s my take on this:
Uncheck “For X seconds” and you should be able to take exposure without waiting.
Also, you can check “Fast recenter after calibration or dither” box in PHD2. That should help PHD settle faster
