Which Filter Is Being Used?

Is there something which indicates which filter is being used for any exposure? Yes, I know the event can contain the filter selection, but there are other actions such as autofocus which can trigger exposures. Is there something which indicates which filter is being used in such other cases?

Filter module will show the current filter that is in use. As will the control panel.
