Anyone out there have any idea why I get a Failed Test message immediately when I click the test button. I have followed the instructions which seem pretty straight forward. I had this feature working fine for the longest time until I had to replace a hard drive.
I am using ATT , Hotmail, . SGP fills in the rest.
Did you open or allow it through the firewall when prompted? If all your settings seem good I would check your firewall settings or disable it temporarily to test.
Yes, I disabled Firewall and also added to my exceptions list. Still fails the test. Thanks for the quick reply. It was working properly for months. New HD and now using Windows 7 . Here are parts of a log showing the error…

SGD is just a different file extension we use for Notification profiles. It looks like it’s loading a couple of other email endpoints (1 and 2 seem to be there as there are no errors for those).
What happens when it attempts to send a notification? Are you getting an error? Can you trigger that and send the log?
I guess I am not seeing what you are seeing. My log shown above contains the same error over and over… Error loading email endpoint addresses! Could not find file ‘C:\Users\17R\AppData\Local\SequenceGenerator\Sequence Generator Pro\3-emailEndpointAddresses.sgd’.
Please see above log posting. I get a "Failure Sending Mail " message instantly when I click the test button.
Do I need to have a sequence loaded and active at the time of testing ???
Right, so you can setup multiple email endpoints and it will only tell you when ones fail to load. not when they succeed. So yours is named: 3-emailEndpointAddresses.sgd
This means that the following loaded successfully:
1-emailEndpointAddresses.sgd
2-emailEndpointAddresses.sgd
If you browse to the path you should see these there:
C:\Users\17R\AppData\Local\SequenceGenerator\Sequence Generator Pro\
I think you’re chasing a red herring with this particular piece. Can you run a sequence and send me the log so I can see if there are any errors when a notification is sent?
It will be a long time before I can run a sequence (Florida weather). However, are you saying that it is working properly ??
If so , shouldn’t I get an email and /or text message confirming the test ?? If I remember correctly, when I first set it up last year I got a little popup saying test was successful. Hope to get this resolved, the notification system is very important for my temporary setup .
I’m saying that the error about “not loading” is not an issue. I can’t tell you if it’s configured correctly or not
Yes, when you trigger a test it will send you an email which you should receive assuming all is setup correctly.
The link to your dropbox is not valid. You need to create a shared link rather than just copying the URL from your browser. If you can trigger it via the test and send me that log it may help.
You can share a file with dropbox and include a link here. But our forum email address goes only to the forum…so if you share it with a forum email address it likely won’t understand what to do with it.
There is a log attached but it looks like SGP was just opened and the log was sent. I don’t see any attempts to send a notification there. I’ll do some testing on my end with my Hotmail account and see if it’s just a settings issue or what.
