Platesolve 3 catalog location

I installed PS3 and configured it to locate the catalogs. It platesolves some images i have.

When I configured SGP to use PS3 and set the catalog location in the rquipment profile, it generates an error message and SGP profile says no catalogs. Any help appreciated. Image attached.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I have followed the SGP help instructions related to installation of PS3, including accessing properties for the ps executable and DLL file.

so with the same latest beta on two different machines, one states ‘no catalogs’ and the other states ‘not installed’

Are you using SGPro 4.4? If so, PS3 doesn’t work quite right there, but this issue was addressed in the 4.5 beta

Hi Ken, Info on SGP version below. PS3 works on the machine if used directly.

To be honest, I don’t know. I can actually reproduce the same here, but the problem is not readily apparent. When a catalog is set, we use a utility literally from PS3 itself to ask “is this catalog OK?” and, sure enough, it rejects a valid UD Catalog path for me as well. I have done previous testing for PS3 with the Kepler catalog which seems to work OK.

I’ll need to do some research here and determine:

- if there is a newer version of PS3 that corrects this

  • if there is possibly a small corruption (like a missing file marker) in the UD Catalog download
  • if we should just not use this internal PS3 verification and set the path anyhow
