Wanderer Flat Box V3 handled as a Manual Flat Box - Automation not working

Hi Team,

I have not used my rig for a while, so last night I had clear skies for a Change and set up a session.

When trying to “Run Sequence” SGP came back with a message saying that I had to remove the Wanderer Flat Box manually. This is new, as I’ve had this box connected for at least two years without ever having to open or close it manually. SGP does connect to the Flat Box and also recognises the status but I cannot open or close the box from SGP.

Would very much appreciate it if you could take a look.

Useful Info

OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
Ver: 4.5.0.1649 (32-bit)
.NET: 4.8
ASCOM: 6.6.1.3673

Hm,

What all did you end up upgrading after your hiatus? Just SGPro? Maybe the ASCOM Platform itself or the flatbox drivers?

I’m not familiar with the error you describe exactly, but is it this maybe?

Error connecting to the flat box!
Proceeding will not allow automatic use of the flat box during the sequence.

Would you like to continue anyhow?

Can you connect to it manually In SGPro?

Hi Ken,

thank you for getting back to me.

I just updated SGPro and nothing else as it all worked fine the last time set up the scope.

Basically, in SGP the box is connected and shows the correct status(open or closed). At the beginning of the sequence it’s closed and when I issue the “Run Sequence” the box normally openes automatically. Now, instead of doing that, a message pops up treating the box as if it were a manual box and I need to switch to the Wanderer app, manually open the box and then return to SGP to click “OK”, after which SGP continues with the sequence.

This then results in the fact that at the end of the sequence, the box does not close automatically and I cannot automatically gather any flats I might want.

The message I get is not the one you mentioned above, in fact, it’s not an error message at all.

Even when I connect the box manually, SGP does recognise the box and the status but not the fact that it’s an automatic box.

Thanks for your continued support.

ok, well I’m stumped then. Would you be able to provide logs showing this? Maybe they will provide additional clues.

Additional guidance on providing logs is here: SGPro - Help

Hi Ken,

apologies for my late reply. I´ve installed the 64bit version of SGP and the issue seems to have disappeared.

We can close this issue. Thank you for your support.

Regards,

Allen
